Snubber Trail
Running from the base of the trail system up into the Village area is Snubber: the lift, the trail, and the neighborhood.
Snowbrook Village, Timberwind, Westwind, Commons, Woody Creek, the Sugarloaf Inn, Sugartree, Birchwood, Snowflower, Spruce Creek, Fall Line, Winter’s Way, North Woods, Castle Creek and Black Bear Lodges are all easily accessible from the Snubber thoroughfare. Condo complexes in this area offer affordable and efficient getaways for a discerning budget, while spacious neighborhoods are home to some of Sugarloaf’s most spectacular properties.
The three-person Snubber chairlift deposits riders just above the base of the Whiffletree chairlift for quick access to the Base Area. Residents can hop on at the chairlift mid-station right next to the Timberwind building and across Mountainside Road from the Sports & Fitness Center, or at the base of the chairlift nestled between Snowbrook Village and Winter’s Way.
The condo access trail is a beginner green trail (though some prefer to walk over Mountainside Road instead of skiing through the infamous tunnel) and is multi-use, with many residents walking their dogs in the morning, skinning uphill, cross-country skiing or fat biking to the nearby Outdoor Center. In the summer, the trail is also used as a mountain biking thoroughfare from the Base Area to the Outdoor Center.
For those who prefer a ride to the Base Village, the Sugarloaf Explorer shuttle makes several stops in the area, including Fall Line, Snowflower, Winter’s Way, Spruce Creek and others.
